Southern Empress Boat Trip and Lunch and Bernhardt Winery Wine Tasting

We are planning a bus trip for Saturday, June 11th, to enjoy a delightful boat tour and lunch on Lake Conroe, followed by a trip to the beautiful Bernhardt Winery, 8 miles outside of Montgomery.

The Southern Empress is a lovely, large paddleboat that has 3 stories. The first floor is the dining area; the second is for the bar, dance floor, and D.J. area; and the third is the balcony, all open, so you can see out over the water. The Southern Empress can hold as many as 100 people on each floor, and is beautiful both inside and out.

We have room for 38 people on the bus, so that we can share this great experience with many RECK members! The lunch cruise boards at 10:30 and we cruise from 11:00 to 1:00 on Lake Conroe. Your $35.00 includes a two-hour lunch cruise, a full meal, coffee, tea, a D.J., a cash bar with a bartender, and a full wait staff!!!

After our amazing Lake Conroe experience, we will depart for the Bernhardt Winery, where you will enjoy quality wines and have a fun tasting experience in a warm environment. You might want to sit and sip under the century-old native pecan trees and release your imaginations and refresh your souls.

The bus arrives at 8:30 at the Kingwood Methodist Church parking lot and leaves at 9:00, arriving to board the Southern Empress at 10:30. The cruise on Lake Conroe is from 11:00 to 1:00 including lunch, music, dancing, sight seeing, and frolicking with fellow passengers.

At 1:30, we depart for the Bernhardt Winery, 9043 County Road, Plantersville, arriving at 2:30 for wine tasting, entertainment, and relaxing under huge shade trees.
We depart for Kingwood at 4:30, returning to the parking lot approximately 6:00.

Thursday, August 4, 2016

There have been many requests for an Astros game, so on Thursday, August 4, 2016, LET’S GO OUT TO THE BALLGAME together and support the upgraded Astros of 2016. We welcome a new season with a few new players. We have reserved the club level seats again this year by popular demand from RECK members, even though there has been a slight increase in price. The club level does feature wider seats, better views of the field, and improvements in the food offerings and menu. Also, the inside level has better air conditioning and offers excellent TV replays thru-out the game if ones wishes to watch. The senior discounted price is $68 per person ($136 per couple.) We will be playing the Toronto Blue Jays, a very good team in the East Division of the American League.

The bus will be leaving from the Kingwood Methodist Church Outreach parking lot at 4:45 pm with game time being at 7:10pm. The hosts for this event are Judy and Cass Zabinski. Please sign up on the RECK website and mail your check payable to Cass Zabinski to: Cass Zabinski, 3211 Parkdale Dr. Kingwood, TX 77339. Cancellation date is July 5th.
