April-June 2015 Newsletter

Happy New Year from the RECK Board. We hope everyone is well and having a good 2015. This year we have scheduled several new adventures for the RECK group. Some of the outings will be with a bus for transportation and some will be individual cars. Since so many groups are signing up for bus transportation, it is difficult to have a bus for each event.

RECK WANTS YOU!!!: The RECK board works hard to arrange outings that will be of interest to the group and we need people willing to host an event. Hosting is very easy since the place to visit, the place to eat, and the bus is arranged for you. The host selects the menu, collects the money, confirms final counts with the restaurant and scheduled event and pays the final bill from monies collected. Please call Bob Dorrill (281-361-7874) to volunteer for a future event.

Paying by Check: When you send your check to the event sponsor, make the check out to the sponsor of the event and NOT RECK. The sponsor pays the final bill.

Dues: If you did not pay your dues at the December Christmas Party, you may mail your check for $20.00 to Cass Zabinski, 3211 Parkdale Dr. Kingwood, TX 77339. Please remember that to participate in a RECK event, you must be a paid member. Yes, you make this check out to RECK.

Past Events:

Once again RECK celebrated the Christmas season with our annual party at the Kingwood Country Club. Everyone seemed to enjoy getting together to toast happy times and friendships. Chef Art did his usual fantastic job with the menu choices and the music by Tom Ashbridge was very enjoyable. Thanks go to Bob and Peggy Dorrill and Barb and Murry Fordree for all their hard work.

A hardy group gathered at the Kingwood Methodist Out Reach Center for the trip to the Houston Ship Channel. Even though the weather was overcast and occasional drops of rain, the trip down the ship channel was enjoyable and very informative. Even though there were too many desserts to choose from, the buffet luncheon was a big hit with everyone. Mary and Ed Jasinski deserve a big thank you with arranging the trip.

After a tasty dinner at Carrabba’s, the RECK members drove to the Nathaniel Center to hear the Kingwood Pops Orchestra. Our local orchestra is to be congratulated on their outstanding performance. We’re sorry for the mix-up on the concert location, but everyone made it to the correct location on time. Your host was Judy Richeson.

A Big Apology to all RECK members. I am busy trying to get newsletters and notices out on time and I have failed to check the E-mail box.   My husband got a big charge out of that since I am always checking e-mails on my site and his too. I promise to check the site at least once a week so I won’t miss anyone. If you need to contact me concerning something on the web or newsletter, e-mail me at judyrich@cebridge.net.   Judy Richeson.
